A painted hutch can be a stunning piece to paint.  Not only can you take something old and dark and give it new life, but you can completely transform the look of your space because these pieces are so large.  Painting them can be a big task – there is lots of space to cover – but I bet after showing you these 9 hutch makeovers, you’ll want to dig out your paint brush and get to work!

1. Outdated Hutch to Coffee Bar

Cindy took this old, outdated brown hutch and made it into a coffee bar!!  How brilliant is that?! Hutches have an amazing amount of storage, and what could be better than to fill it with coffee??

2. Navy Blue Antique Hutch

I love how this piece turned out!  It took a few more coats of paint than I anticipated, but now I think it is a beauty.  Updated to a modern fresh color, yet classy enough that it will stand the test of time!  You can read more about this makeover here.

Jessica loves mid-century modern pieces, and wow did she give this piece a makeover, don’t you think?? I love the boho vibe I get from this piece, it’s just the pop of color a room may need!

You’ve got to go see how this piece started!  Then tell me, would you have thought it could look so good?? Colleen found this piece for a steal and did an amazing job on it, don’t you think? It’s such a statement piece – a drool-worthy statement piece!!

5. Snow White Hutch Makeover

We have so much less cabinet space in our new kitchen, so I needed a hutch for hidden storage.  I found this piece – it was as boring and beige as my house – and gave it a fresh coat of white paint.  The inside pops with the dark Queenstown Gray. I’m loving both the style and function of this piece!

6. The two makeover hutch

Jessica gave this hutch two makeovers – go see which is your favorite?!  She settled on this dark gray exterior with a white interior and boy is it a lovely statement.  This started as one of those chunky pieces that are sitting all over thrift stores… now it’s just lovely!

7. Shabby White Hutch Makeover

Are you a fan of shabby chic? Isn’t this piece perfection!  It didn’t start off so hot.  And no one believes me, but white is the hardest color to paint – so this truly was a labor of love!
