farmhouse+furniture+transformations

For the Furniture Round-Up for April, I decided to feature artists who transformed pieces into a farmhouse feel! We had some really farmy-feeling pieces submitted! I don’t know if farmhouse style furniture is your cup of tea, but I find it cozy & comforting. The owner behind each featured piece of furniture is highlighted, to give you an opportunity to get to know them, more about their featured piece & maybe some DIY tips & tricks!

Let’s stroll through the farmhouse feel.

1. Farmhouse Wall Mounted Desk

These wall-mounted desks are great for small spaces that a traditional desk may not fit. What an amazing space that has been created around this beautifully stained desk by Thirty Eighth Street. I also can’t help but gawk over that sweet wooden matching chair. Makes me wish I was typing in this little space

2. Farmhouse Rustic Side Tables

Would you have taken the risk & picked up these side tables in their original state? I love when people make such drastic transformations through some new stain & paint, and Just A Little Creativity did not disappoint. The new dark stain & antique white paint can place these cutie matching tables in any farmhouse bedroom!

3. Farmhouse Buffet

Another piece by Just A Little Creativity, I bet this little buffet could tell a few stories. The distressed look of this piece makes you feel like generations of farmers owned it & many a table linen & trinket were stored away in these drawers. Love it!

4. Farmhouse Coffee Table

A personal favorite 🙂 The top of this table looks like it came off the side of a barn with those sweet wooden planks. A custom mix of stain & paint was used to give this table that farmhouse cozy feel. And those chunky legs… Find the full tutorial for creating this look here!

5. Farmhouse Hutch

There are so.many.great.things.about.this.piece. The gray distressed paint. The bead board backdrop. The custom shelves AND cabinets at the bottom. The diagonal wood work doors. Also, the many many amazing antique decorations, make this piece perfect for that farmhouse dining room. Get you a boxwood green wreath. Seriously adore this piece of work by My Life on Kaydeross Creek

6. Farmhouse Snack Tray Tables

These are worth replicating, again & again & again. What a great idea by Reinvented. A soft white coat of paint on top of a classic wooden folding snack tray table makes for a great resting place for cups of coffee, books, sandwiches & bowls of ice cream, while watching a favorite movie or two.

7. Farmhouse Table & Bench

The hand painted wording on the back of this bench could not be more accurate. This table & bench is begging for great gatherings of friends & family. So much distress. So much vintage. So much character. Probably so many great conversations around this work of art by Sweet Serendipity

8. Farmhouse Entry-Way Cabinet

This little dresser-turned-entry-way-fixture is just so cute. I love the super square edges & straight lines. Something so simple about the farmhouse style. The stain & white paint combo give me that comfy & cozy farmhouse feel instantly. The crystal glass knobs & original drawer detail make this piece so great, another classic by My Life on Kaydeross Creek

9. Farmhouse Dresser

Black paint, distressed + classic white porcelain knobs. The farmer’s wife definitely owned this dresser with her sweet little mustard yellow sweater, that I bet she made a mean apple pie while wearing. I wonder if she admired this dresser & all of the unique character along the edges & even into the legs, as much as I do. This makeover by Thirty Eighth Street.

10. Farmhouse Breakfast Table

Does anyone else think that emerald green, wood tones & snow white are a combination made in Heaven? I also think they beg for Spring on the farm. This stained round table top & chunky white base probably host a great farmhouse breakfast meal & conversation. Yet another cozy space, and I show you all the details over in this post

11. Farmhouse Chair & Stand

American flags, dial candlestick telephones, worn-edged books & farmhouse all go together. This black painted & distressed chair & 3 legged stool-table create the perfect little corner to chat with the neighbor on the next farm over for probably 10 cents a minute! This sweet set-up by The Purple Hydrangea.

12. Farmhouse Bench

A stunning final farmhouse piece for this month’s round-up. Every single item in this picture belongs on a farm. What a great collection of belongings. But this bench, what a beauty. Maybe there is a theme to farmhouse style furniture. Or maybe the simplicity of white & original wood spoke volumes of the simple farm life. Either way, this bench & its simple antique white paint just make this a classic furniture refinish by Just The Woods.

Hope you found some love in your heart for the farmhouse feel, {if you didn’t previously have some}!
