entry+way PC: http://www.cathypascarellaphotography.com/

I wanted the entry way to be a fun reflection of our home, as well as being super functional.  I re-purposed this dresser to house shoes, gloves, mail etc.  And it has a mirror for last minute checks as your heading out the door.

I found this green light at an antique store, and just love it – it’s a fun pop of color to greet people.  Here’s a similar one (and it’s cheap!). I put a runner up the stairs that brings in the navy blue accent color (I just stapled a Costco runner right to the steps – that was about a year ago, and it’s held up well! Here’s a video of the process if you want to see.

Since the dining room is just off the entry, I choose similar paint colors that go together well.  If I remember correctly, they are two shades on the same card, which ensures that they coordinate.  The entry way is Benjamin Moore Rockport Gray, and the dining room is Copley Gray upper with 2/3 of the wall painted white (straight out of the can white!).

I painted the lower portion of the wall white to prep for wainscoting, and then realized I was really happy with just the paint and didn’t need to mess with it anymore!  The table base and chairs in here are painted in General Finishes Coastal Blue (which forever has my heart).  The hutch in the corner is Snow White.

A pretty floral print in a simple black frame really pops off the wall, and this black chandelier grounds the space well (here’s one that’s pretty close).

The other room off the entry is this formal living room we turned into the office/guest room/library.  We built the built-ins ourselves, and while it was a big project, I love them.  This will be a repeat project in the new house for sure! I put a day bed in here for guests and it also doubles as a couch.

The wall color in this room is Benjamin Moore London Fog which is a light airy gray, perfect with all the natural light this room gets.  The back of the built-ins (and the headboard on the wall) is painted in Behr’s Restless Sea – which reads as a navy.

The white curtains in this room are from Ikea, a pair is only $10!!  Can’t beat that price, and they are nice and long.
