Hi there! Happy New Year!

Before we move along into the new year, I always like to take a minute and reflect on the past year that just ended.  Sometimes it feels like so little is accomplished in a day, and yet so much can be accomplished in a year, am I right?

I pulled the top posts from 2017 – and thought I’d feature them all in a post here in case you may have missed any of them.  This was the first year I consistently documented projects on the blog – and I’m so glad I did (I think you’ve enjoyed it too).

In no particular order, here’s 6 of the top projects:

1. Farmhouse Media Cabinet

If you missed it, you’ve got to see how this one started.  It was a piece destined for the trash that I had a little fun with and made into a barn-door style media cabinet.  It’s now sitting pretty in my living room and the perfect spot for the TV.  Total transformations like this are one of my favorite things.

2. Up-Cycled Furniture Leg Candlesticks

Architectural elements are one of the best things to decorate with.  It’s like adding insta-character to a room.  I had these chunky table legs sitting in my stash for a long time, and finally took the time to create something with them.  It’s an easy project, that results in one-of-a-kind candlesticks!  Trash to treasure for the win!!

3. Driftwood Dresser Makeover and Furniture Leg Repair

This is the perfect example of why it’s so important to look back on the year – I totally forgot this piece was from THIS year.  February was so long ago.  Not only was this chest of drawers a pretty makeover with Driftwood Milk Paint and refinished drawer fronts, but it was also the piece that needed some major repair.  I showed you how to DIY a furniture mold to repair a missing piece.  You’d be surprised at what you can use to repair a piece like this.

4. DIY Kitchen Remodel

What I had no idea would happen this year was that we would move. And do not one but 2 kitchen makeovers.  Here’s the first one (and my favorite), where we did everything from moving cabinets, changing the layout, building a custom island, painting cabinets and walls and the range hood, etc.  The full reveal post and all the links to projects are right here for you.

5. Kitchen Makeover Take 2

It wasn’t 2 months after our first kitchen remodel was complete that we listed our house for sale and bought the beige beauty we now live in.  We’ve been painting up a storm and making it our own ever since.  One project I jumped on before the weather turned was painting the kitchen cabinets from orange oak to all white.  What a difference.  The full kitchen cabinet makeover can be found here.

6. Rose Gold Vanity Makeover

Pink isn’t my color, but I had fun creating my take on “rose gold” with this vanity makeover.  Sometimes using a color that’s a little out of the box is just the thing you need to keep you creative.  I love how sparkly and feminine this piece turned out.

So there you have it – six of the top projects from 2017.  Thanks so much for joining me on this crazy project adventure.  I’m so glad to have you here with me.  I’m excited for what 2018 will bring, and promise to bring you more inspiring DIY and furniture makeovers.

Until next time,

Jenni
