Vintage Dresser in Corinth Blue | Glazing Tutorial

I'm back today with a great before and after in a bright happy blue!

This dresser was nothing special to start,

Sorry for the terrible "before" shot, but you get the jist.

On a side note...when were these pulls ever a good idea?  They are everywhere!

Okay back to the makeover, here this beauty is now...

Vintage Corinth Blue Dresser

Vintage Corinth Blue Dresser

The base of this was painted in two coats of General Finishes Corinth Blue Milk Paint (thanks for the help mom!), the piece was then distressed and glazed with GF Glaze Effects in Burnt Umber.  Tutorial video below...

The top was refinished in Special Walnut stain and sealed with three coats of General Finishes High Performance Poly.

The glaze really tones down the blue and gives it an aged look, this piece reminded me of turquoise or a great piece for a bright southwestern space.

New and old knobs and pulls were added to finish off the look of this piece.

This piece is available in the shop!

Want to try glazing too? Here's the tutorial!

Thanks for stopping by!

Blessings,
Jenni
